Harriet Sims

Registered Nurse & Therapist

My name is Harriet (she/her) and I am from New Zealand. I grew up in Auckland and have since travelled the world meeting people and experiencing many different ways of life.

For the past 10 years I have been working with young people, adults and their families to support them with physical and mental health challenges. I provide mental health support and treatment in person and via Zoom.

I bring a wide range of experience and I can't wait to share that with you.

I take a collaborative, transparent approach focused on your goals. It is really important to me to work alongside you to establish a safe space to explore your difficulties. I am compassionate, non-judgmental and we will work at your pace.

I have worked with a wide range of people facing a wide variety of challenges. In particular I have experience working with people experiencing anxiety, low mood, depression, life transitions and eating disorders.

I also have experience working alongside, and supporting people who are exploring their gender and sexuality.

I use a range of models of treatment including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy Skills (DBT), Family Therapy Techniques, Gottman Couples Therapy and specific treatment for Anorexia Nervosa.
